About Us
Cloud Cap Mushrooms started as a small mushroom farm in 2020, owned and operated by lifelong Oregonian, Chris Ponti. Chris is a sixth generation Oregonian working hard to be an ethical business owner, a good father, and a good steward of his community and his land.
Over the last 6 years, we have transformed into a mushroom distribution business including Our Fresh Mushroom CSA, mushroom add-ons with over a dozen local CSA farms, and distribution built on solid relationships with local mushroom farmers, front porch CSA site hosts, produce farmers, food hubs, food system activists and community stakeholders.
We are proud to be part of a robust and growing local food system that prioritizes resilience and relationships over profits and shareholder value.

Order Cutoff
Skip or modify your upcoming order by Saturday at 9pm.
We'll text/email you each week before we harvest, and you'll have until that week's cutoff time (Saturday at 9pm) to add extras to your order, or to notify us if you need to skip the week's share.
We’ll alert you again when it’s time to pickup and/or when your order is out for delivery.
Heading out of town or need to skip a week? No problem - just reply “skip” to the weekly alert by 9pm Saturday to skip at no charge.
FAQ & Policies
While we'd never advise skipping your shrooms, we understand that life gets busy! Every week, you'll receive an alert when our harvest starts, with the option to “skip” by 9pm Saturday evening to opt out of the week's order at no charge.
Absolutely! Members get first dibs on mushrooms from our add-on shop.
Yes! Simply message Farmhand or head to the "Subscriptions" tab of your Farmhand dashboard to update your recurring order.

Preserving Your Produce
Storage Tips:
Fresh shiitake and mixed mushrooms are best used within about 5–7 days.
- Store mushrooms in the fridge, ideally in a paper bag or wrapped loosely in paper towel. This helps absorb extra moisture so they stay fresh longer.
- Avoid plastic bags or sealed containers if you can. Mushrooms trap moisture fast, and that makes them get slimy.
- Don’t wash them until right before using. If they’re dirty, brush off debris or wipe gently with a dry or slightly damp towel.
